We invite you to an exhibition bringing together two artists:
Pola Dwurnik, a painter, and Oskar Zięta, a product designer and technologist.

Both were born in Poland, but met in Switzerland in 2004. Pola Dwurnik was then on an artist's residency at the Laurenz House Foundation in Basel, and Oskar was doing his doctoral studies at ETH in Zurich. They have been friends for 21 years and during this time regularly exchanged their works - Oskar has Pola's paintings at home, Pola has Oskar's objects.
The exhibition takes up the theme of the Doppelgänger, duality, image reflection, and the mirror. The motif of the mysterious double, who is not our twin brother, is known from literature and film. Interpreted in various ways, as a warning or premonition, it contains a mystery of perception. In the steel mirrored surface of Oskar Zieta's objects, we see our reflection. But apparently, a Doppelgänger has no reflection. Is that really so?
The protagonists of the presentation are: a badger, a parrot, and a fox. These animals often appear in Pola's paintings. They are accompanied by a young woman, often "dressed" in one of the animals. She is doubled; next to her, we see her doppelgänger. But which one is real, and which one is imagined? The shiny, light-reflecting steel surface is a characteristic element of Oskar Zieta's work. However, we don't dwell on what this beautiful, polished steel is reflecting. After all, the image of ourselves seen from a distance embodies one of the most important mysteries of existence. Like Neo in the film "The Matrix," we look into the mirror with trepidation and ask: "Who am I really?"
Sometimes art becomes a mirror that reflects our emotions, instincts, and the essence of who we are.
This is how Pola Dwurnik creates - a painter who captures what often remains hidden beneath the surface. This December, her works will meet the sculptures of Oskar Zięta in a remarkable exhibition, “Zieta meets Dwurnik: Doppelgänger”.
Born in 1979 in Warsaw, where she still lives and works, Pola Dwurnik is a visual artist, painter, author, editor, educator, and curator. She holds a degree in art history from the University of Warsaw and studied under Edward Dwurnik and Teresa Gierzyńska.
In her art, she weaves together oil painting, drawing, and collage to explore identity - the delicate balance between inner emotion and outward appearance. A recurring theme in her work is the complex relationship between humans and animals: a blend of fear, fascination, and obsession. Dwurnik’s visual language is deeply rooted in cultural references, literature, and art history.
Her works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions and are held in both museum and private collections.
